When the original Soul Caliber was released in the late 90’s, it brought forth a new level of game play for fighting games in the console world. Soul Caliber brings a number of new features to the table and offers online play for the first time in the series. If you’re a fan of the series, the majority of the players will look very familiar to you. About half of the 30-some characters are available initially and you can unlock the rest by defeating enemies in the game’s arcade and story modes. Unlike many fighting games, Soul Caliber IV is very accessible to beginning players. When you first pick up the game, you’ll have no problem picking it up and making decent moves from the beginning. The game’s online mode is where it really shines. The action is fast-paced and lag is almost non-existent if you have a good connection.
